On Monday, the junior varsity wrestling team had a practice in a unique location. They worked on their skills in the cafeteria for the day.
After school, the wrestling student managers quickly cleared the commons area full of seats and tables to make room for the mats, which were then quickly laid out.
The team practiced many different moves during the session and had a whole projector and screen to work with since they were in the commons.
Coach Jesse Andres was at the front of the room using videos on the projector to help coach his guys.
Senior Alberto Cobian said, “It’s cool to have the big screen that helps demonstrate the moves we are learning.”
This raises the question of what the wrestlers prefer. The commons is less crowded and has a nice feel to it rather than having a hot, condense room like they have now.
“I like it more than the wrestling room, it just feels nicer and not so packed,” sophomore Jony Reyes explained.
