The varsity wrestling team had their third meet against the Omaha Westside Warriors on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at Pius X.
The meet was a dual, where Pius X faced only one other school, and each varsity member had one match for the night.
“I feel like I did really good, and I was able to keep my head in the game and keep fighting,” freshman Isaac Minchow said.
According to the NEwrestle Class A Rankings, Omaha Westside is ranked 5th in the state.
“I think the team fought really hard and we won a lot of matches,” coach Jesse Andres said. “It was a really tough team and we wrestled with all our heart.”
The Bolts dropped the dual 48-30.
“I think I did pretty well with my match, but I could have done better, I was just tired,” freshman Joe Andreason said.
The team’s next dual is on Thursday.
“Our next match is here against East, and it should be a lot closer this time hopefully,” Andres said.
