Pius X wrestling had a home dual against Lincoln Southeast on Tuesday.
The team was behind in the first half but slowly started to catch up by the second half.
“As a team I think there’s a lot of room for improvement but good improvement I say,” senior Luke Andres said.
Andres wrestled at 152 pounds and won his match 8-2.
“Overall, individually I think I did about as well as I expected to,” Andres said.
The final score was Thunderbolts 39 and Knights 45.
“I think we did good,” assistant coach Jesse Andres said. “We pulled some things and we tried to get a win at the end, but I think we wrestled well.”
Tuesday was also senior night for the wrestlers.
At the start of the meet the team showed their respect to the seniors by announcing them.
“It was exciting to be announced,” Luke Andres said.
Their next meet is against Roncalli Catholic on Saturday.
“Next Tuesday and Thursday we also have duals with Millard North and Bellevue East,” Jesse Andres said.
