Pius X swim and dive competed and won their first meet of the season against Lincoln Northeast and Beatrice/Fairbury/Freeman on Nov. 30 at the Northeast pool.
“It is only the first meet of the season, and we already have some great times on the record,” head coach Jodi Riskowski said. “If we build our technique up, we can only grow from here.”
Even though it was the first meet of the season, Pius X pulled through with a total of 257.00 points. The men on Pius X swim team earned 114.00 points while the women earned 143.00 points.
“We did a great job today,” Riskowski said. “There are many more meets to come where we can do even better.”
As the season goes on, Pius X swim team hopes to continue building on technique to help improve the scores during the meets even more.
“I think we need to work on being technically sound as a whole so we can boost our chances of points,” junior Cecilia Oldenburg said. “I did not know how I felt coming in, but we did great things today as a team today and hopefully we will continue to do so.”
