Pius X played Lincoln East in freshman football last week. The teams battled it out until halftime but the Bolts still fell short 14 points, leaving the score at 14-28.
The football team is not only a team but is also a tight knit family. Players support each other and lift each other up, whether they did good or bad.
“We all have good chemistry,” freshman Zeke Mullendore said.
The beginning of the game was tough, but the football team rose to the occasion and tied at halftime. Coach Matt Sestak was proud of the success but thought they had areas to improve on.
“East has a physicality advantage,” Sestak said.
Even though East had a physical advantage, they still had a great offense. The football team also had good plays and executed them well.
“We did the best we could, that’s what matters,” freshman Brevin Wiesel said.
Even though the freshman football team lost 14-28, they put their best foot forward. In the practices ahead they will assess their weaknesses and be proud of their strengths.
