A new club has recently been established, and it’s different from other clubs: the Milk Enjoyers Club.
“So this is the Milk Enjoyers Club, we love milk,” president and co-founder junior Aaliyah Bowers said.
The members of this club all share a liking for milk.
“This club is for students who love milk to share their love of milk and have fun,” sponsor Thomas Johnson said.
The club is laid back with lots of fun mixed in. During this week’s meeting, the members had a fun activity that simulated how milk was made with a rubber glove.
“I showed up because I thought it sounded interesting and a little odd, and I wanted some milk,” sophomore Jacob Bauman said.
This week’s meeting marked the second time the club had been held.
“We’re here to appreciate milk because lots of people think it’s gross.” Bowers said. “I enjoy milk so I want others to enjoy it as well,” Bowers said.
The club actually originated as a sort of joke in one of Johnson’s classes.
“It started as Aaliyah sending surveys in my class asking whether or not students liked milk as a joke,” Johnson said. “Then she asked if we could do this for real, and then it kind of just morphed into a real thing. Then on November 9 the first official Milk Enjoyers meeting was held, it consisted of much planning and brainstorming.”
The Milk Enjoyers Club meets every Wednesday after school in room 2215.
“Feel free to stop by,” Bowers said.
