Students from every high school near Lincoln flock west to Pla Mor Ballroom on Sunday nights from 8:30-11:30pm.
Here they can swing and line dance, grab some dinner, and all around have an enjoyable night.
Two country bands play live music while people dance on the dance floor under a giant disco ball. To get into the event you are required to pay an admission cost of $6.
Pla Mor Ballroom has held events and entertainment for over 90 years, first opening in 1929.
While this wonderful ballroom holds amazing country dances, they also hold weddings, fundraisers, and other special parties and events.
Don’t think you can dance? Not to worry. Junior Genevieve Sovereign even says “Everyone can enjoy some part of it.”
While lots of footwork is included, the line dances are easy to catch up on. Once you learn them, you’ll look like an expert!
The popularity of this hotspot grew as more students began to tell their friends about it. Once the word got around, more and more Pius X students began to go.
There is no “proper attire” to be worn when going to Pla Mor, however, you will see some very fun outfits going on. From full on cowboy outfits, to flare jeans paired with tank tops.
Although there is no dress code, there is one important thing to remember. “Wear your boots!” junior Jerzey Wiechman exclaims.
Some students only go to Pla Mor every now and then, or maybe have even only gone once or twice before. For sophomore Rylan Doering, however, he says he likes to go “every other Sunday.”
No matter how amazing your dancing skills are or how social you might be, fun is bound to be had when spending your Sunday evening at Pla Mor.
Many Pius X students recommend going to Pla Mor and they themselves are planning to continue to go.
