The Pius X cheer program sponsored a junior cheerleaders clinic for the Oct. 4 football game.
This program has existed for over eight years to help Pius X cheer expand their program to younger girls in the diocese.
“It is important to us to get the younger girls involved as they are the future faces of Pius X cheerleading,” cheer coach Caycee Hayes said.
Girls as old as sixth graders were invited to Pius X to practice routines created by the cheerleaders to perform at the following game.
“They learned some standard basic routines and some fun ones to perform,” Hayes said.
Cheerleaders and junior cheerleaders then performed their hard work at the game for the parent section.
“It was fun to get to see them showcase their work and they all seem so happy,” junior Caylee Schlautman said.
