Volunteer Opportunities

Being involved in your son or daughter’s school is a proven way to demonstrate the importance of their education. That you are willing to give your time and talent to serve their school can help further engage them and your family into the Pius X community. There are many ways to get involved, and we’ve listed a few below:

Among many other projects, the Booster Club organizes the concessions stands for our home sporting events. Volunteers are needed. Students can serve with their parents. A Booster Club board member is on hand for each event, so no previous experience is necessary. Visit PiusX.net/boosterclub and click on the Concessions link to see the schedule and sign up for a date and time of your choice.

Grandparents Day is on Thursday, October 10. Help is needed to welcome grandparents, serving refreshments, light clean-up work following the event, and more. Interested in volunteering? Email Kathryn.Bergen@piusx.net or call 402-488-1046.

Our biggest fundraising event of the year is our BOLT Gala, scheduled for April 26, 2025. Committees meet throughout the year to plan this fun, entertaining event. They can also help obtain auction items from area businesses, set-up and tear-down before and after the event, and help the night of with registration, auction check-out, or lottery ticket sales. Email Kathryn.Bergen@piusx.net  or call 402-488-1046.

Your child’s athletic and activity teams may also need assistance, from helping with a team meal to organizing signs/posters and other projects throughout their season. Typically a parent will request volunteers at the beginning of the season. Contact your coach to see who would be the best point of contact.

Chaperones and volunteers at dances are always in need, whether it’s Homecoming, Winter Formal or Prom. Contact the front office to ask for the best contact for each event.

While it’s too late for this year, our early-August student Schedule Pick-up Day runs smoothly because of our parent volunteers. Contact Heather Scheffler in our front office for more details. Planning typically starts mid-summer.

Parents can also work with our students in a mentor-mentee situation. TeamMates Mentors meet weekly with a student to play a game, chat or take part in other activities. Contact Caycee.Hayes@piusx.net for more information. Student faith groups – Discipleship (grades 10-12 meet outside of school) and Encounter (freshmen meet during school) – are being formed and mentors are needed. Our campus ministry team will be happy to provide the materials and ideas you need to guide our students on their journey of faith and life. Visit piusx.net/campusministry to learn more.
