Parents: Julia and Andy Budell
School(s) attended K-8: St. Joseph
Favorite place on campus: Pool on the third floor; see me for a pass if needed. I also enjoyed the courtyard for obvious reasons. I also enjoyed Mr. Kathol’s office, because he keeps it real. Aldrich Field, because I left my hamstring on the south 25-yard line.
Activities at Pius X: Basketball, Cross Country, Track and Field, Football, Campus Ministry, Student Council, Speech, Senior Assassins, Boy-Girl Dance. I also tried out for tennis but for some reason I wasn’t invited to stay. I also tried Chess Club, I lost to a freshman and got trash talked so I didn’t go back. I went to an informational session about Spectrum, but, well, I don’t move like that. I was also liked enough to be on Junior Prom Court and Homecoming Court but not enough to win. Oh well, that’s fine.
What is/was your favorite class at Pius X, and why? Anatomy, ’nuff said.
How has your faith impacted your education, or how has your education impacted your faith? My faith has impacted my education significantly. Since encountering the Lord at school retreats, I have applied myself fully to all of my classes and invested in kindness to my classmates. The theology classes at Pius have been excellent in encouraging my growth in faith. Not only when I am growing in faith, my theology teachers and campus ministry have helped back on the right path when I’ve fallen off of it.
What are you most proud of about your time at Pius X? That I wasn’t afraid to try anything.
Where are your plans after high school (college, military, job, etc.)? What do you plan to study? I will be attending Creighton University in the fall, majoring in biochemistry and havin’ a good time.
