Parents: Deb and Jeff Searcey
School(s) attended K-8: St. John the Apostle
Favorite place on campus: The basketball gym because it was a getaway from school and other worries I had, plus I was with friends. I also enjoyed being in the campus ministry room as it is always fun talking to people I wouldn’t normally talk to if not in that room, especially people in my class. Lastly the chapel, as I have gotten to enjoy it more, being alone with God in prayer.
Activities at Pius X: Basketball, campus ministry, leadership academy, leader of freshman encounter
What is/was your favorite class at Pius X, and why? Anatomy because it is so fun to learn, especially with the dissections. I also enjoyed Biology, and I know Mrs. Steenson has a big help in that.
How has your faith impacted your education, or how has your education impacted your faith? My faith has made me realize I am so fortunate to have a chance to learn at a high level with amazing teachers, so I have definitely been studying more and not taking it for granted. My education, especially theology class, has made me more invested in my faith, and has given me a deep desire to grow closer to God, and bring my friends with me on this path.
What are you most proud of about your time at Pius X? Growing closer in my faith. It is amazing to know I am not the only one, and that all students at Pius X are taking their faith more seriously. I am also proud of my basketball career, because I think our class left a mark with how hard we worked and played together.
Where are your plans after high school (college, military, job, etc.)? What do you plan to study? My plan is to attend University of Nebraska-Lincoln and study Biology, with a dream to be in the medical field.
