Pius X High School has an immediate opening for a full-time paraprofessional. This individual will sit in on various classes to assist, tutor and guide individuals and small group instruction coordinated by our ABLE and classroom teachers. Pius X is dedicated to helping students reach their full potential in a respectful and supportive learning environment.
Essential Job Functions
- Providing one-on-one or small group academic support to students in the classroom.
- Assisting in classroom management and behavior support.
- Providing additional support to students in ABLE, on 504 plans, and/or IEP’s.
- Contribute to the library of study tools, i.e. class notes and completed assignments.
Preferred Talents
- Willingness to learn subject matter for a variety of classes.
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organization and problem solving.
Qualifications
- High School diploma
- 1-2 years’ experience preferred.
- Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
- Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Support and adhere to codes of conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters.
