Paraprofessional

Pius X High School has an immediate opening for a full-time paraprofessional. This individual will sit in on various classes to assist, tutor and guide individuals and small group instruction coordinated by our ABLE and classroom teachers. Pius X is dedicated to helping students reach their full potential in a respectful and supportive learning environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Providing one-on-one or small group academic support to students in the classroom.
  • Assisting in classroom management and behavior support.
  • Providing additional support to students in ABLE, on 504 plans, and/or IEP’s.
  • Contribute to the library of study tools, i.e. class notes and completed assignments.

Preferred Talents

  • Willingness to learn subject matter for a variety of classes.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organization and problem solving.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma
  • 1-2 years’ experience preferred.
  • Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
  • Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Support and adhere to codes of conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters.

About Pius X

Pius X currently has about 1,100 students (co-ed) enrolled in our 9-12 Catholic high school. While applicants do not need to be Catholic, we are seeking teachers who have a relationship with Jesus Christ and are willing to share that relationship with students. Athletic & Activities Director

Pius X High School is announcing a search for a new Athletic & Activities Director to begin in July 2024. A successful applicant will be a practicing Catholic with administrative certification (or the ability to acquire it) and an understanding of the Church’s teaching on the role of sports and arts in the formation of character and virtue.
