Welcome, Bolts! I couldn’t be more thrilled to greet you as we start another school year together in 2023-2024! As I reflect on the upcoming year, I’m overcome with a mixture of excitement and nervous energy, just like many of you. This year signifies a fresh chapter for me as I transition from the role of a classroom teacher to an assistant principal. And just like you, as students, embracing a new grade level, there’s a familiar warmth and comfort that comes with returning to Pius X—a school that I love. Personally, there is excitement in seeing colleagues and the ease of being back in a well-known routine. I hope many can relate to that feeling.
Yet, amidst all the excitement, there lies a sense of the unknown—a sense of anticipation for the challenges that lie ahead. The beginning of the year can certainly feel overwhelming. But in moments like these, I find solace and strength by turning to our Lord. His love, guidance, and support help relieve any doubts or stresses, replacing them with confidence and trust. Proverbs 3:5-6 states “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Reflecting upon this verse helps ease my uncertainties and reminds me that I am not alone in this journey. We were never meant to face challenges alone.
As you step into this new academic year, my hope is that you come to realize that you have an incredible support system by your side. Not only do you have the enduring love of Our Lord, but you also have the faculty and staff who are wholeheartedly invested in your success. Above all, let us always remember that we are in this together. Regardless of how you feel at the start of this year, know you are not alone. On the first day of school, I will be there with open arms, filled with excitement, ready to welcome you.
