Jeanette Keller has been named the head swimming and diving coach at Lincoln Pius X High School.
“I’m very excited and grateful for this opportunity to step into the head swim coach position at Pius X,” Keller said. “I’ve always loved high school swimming and I’m really looking forward to providing a great experience for all of the Pius X swimmers and divers.”
She previously served as an assistant coach for Pius X. Pius X’s Activities Director Tim Aylward said Keller’s experience will be a benefit to the school’s program.
“Jeanette has coached up a lot of young swimmers, teaching them skills in the pool to be successful,” Aylward said. “She knows many of our swim and dive athletes, and she knows the local swimming scene. We are excited to see her coach the Thunderbolts to continued success.”
Keller began coaching and teaching swimming while in high school in Omaha. She coached an Oregon club and high school team to several league and conference championships, and has had swimmers qualify for state, regional, zone and junior national meets. Keller has also traveled the country for several ASCA (American Swim Coaches Association) World Swim Clinics, as well as Coaches Clinics at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Co., Arizona State University and locally in Oregon.
In 1997, Jeanette took over the Hillcrest Country Club program in Lincoln, and has developed a program that has a strong tradition of winning the Capital City League Championship Meet.
