Pamela Steuter

2023 Volunteer of the Year

Pamela Steuter has been selected as the Pius X 2023 Volunteer of the Year for providing outstanding volunteer service to Pius X High School. Pamela, a Bryan College of Nursing graduate, met her future husband, Dr. John Steuter, on the heart floor at Bryan Medical Center. Pamela worked in cardiology as an RN in the UNMC cath lab, and now serves her family as a stay-at-home-mom in addition to serving our Pius X family as an active volunteer.

Pamela and Dr. Steuter, Cardiologist at Bryan Heart, have five children who attend Nebraska Wesleyan University (Lucas, Pius X Class of ’23), Pius X High School (Nicolas ’25, Jocelyn ’27), and St. Joseph Catholic School (Samuel and Liam). Pamela and John represent St. Joseph’s on the Pius X Parent Association, and are actively engaged with the Booster Club, and activities with the Pius X Cross-Country team. Pamela took charge of facilitating indoor and outdoor cleanup to beautify Pius X as Parent Association Grounds Committee Chair. She coordinated a team of volunteers, and Pamela and her family personally invested not only a tremendous number of hours to bring the Marian courtyard back to life, but also provided the building materials to help Don McKee and a team of students build the beautiful new pergola.

Each year we recognize one outstanding volunteer who makes valuable contributions of time and talent to Pius X High School. The award recipient will be recognized at our annual Founders and Friends event in the fall. Anyone can nominate another individual, and nominations are accepted year-round. This award was established in 2019.
