Work Ethic Grant

This is a pilot year for this program for the 2022-23 school year. Future funding for this scholarship is not guaranteed.

A new scholarship is being offered through the Lincoln Diocese. In an effort to help keep tuition affordable and to reward students’ who work hard, a generous benefactor has offered to pilot a Work Ethic Grant program for students starting their junior and senior years this fall at any Lincoln Diocesan high school.

Eligible students will receive a grant of up to $1,000 that will be applied to their tuition. The grant will be calculated based on the number of hours a student has worked between July 1st and November 1st of this year. Students will receive a $5 per hour credit for up to 200 hours maximum.

Qualified work includes part-time jobs as well as those types of work where no typical paycheck is received such as family farms, self-employment, mowing lawns, etc. The work must be completed between July 1, 2022 and Nov. 1, 2022. If a family has already paid their tuition in full prior to Nov. 1, reimbursement will be issued.

This is separate from other scholarships provided by the Diocese. There is NO NEED to fill out anything in FACTS. Simply complete the attached Application Form (with signatures from both student and parent) and spreadsheet before Monday, November 7 to Amanda Ullman (amanda.ullman@piusx.net) in our Foundation Office. Once your application and completed spreadsheet are received, the school will credit your account. Any junior or senior at Pius X may take advantage of this opportunity. You do not need to submit the application until your work is complete. No further proof of hours is required; students and parents are expected to honestly report the hours worked.
