James Kreifels grew up in Nebraska City and moved to Lincoln in 1952. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1954.

Patricia Strizek grew up in Agnew and attended Valparaiso High School.

James and Patricia Kreifels were married August 31, 1957. Their family quickly grew to include seven children.

In 1968 James founded Action Plumbing and Heating of Lincoln. With his work ethic and dedication to treating people fairly and doing the right thing, the company has grown to be one of Lincoln’s leading plumbing companies. He is proud of building a company with a legacy that his sons and grandsons continue to manage and own.

The Kreifels’ Catholic faith was very important to them. The older children attended St. John’s school until the family moved onto an acreage outside of Lincoln in 1969. They became parishioners of St. Patrick’s Church where they attended Mass each Sunday and the kids attended CCD. Their youngest child, Christine, later attended Pius for two years, graduating in 1985.

In 1988 James and Patricia moved back into Lincoln and became parishioners at St. Joseph’s parish. They were active in their parish and various other organizations. James is a member of the Serra Club and active in the Knights of Columbus. Patricia was an altar society member and active in the Catholic Daughters of America. She had a weekly perpetual adoration hour at St Joseph’s for more than 30 years.

James and Patricia have thirteen grandchildren; eight who graduated from Pius and one who is currently attending. They enjoyed watching their grandchildren participate in the many activities Pius has to offer. They attended many Pius baseball, football and soccer games. They also enjoyed many band concerts. They loved watching their grandkids and cheering on the Thunderbolts.

Patricia was a devoted wife and mother with a strong faith. She passed away on February 16, 2020 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

James and Patricia have a long history of giving back to the community and supporting various Catholic institutions in Lincoln and surrounding areas.
