Don and Georgia Miller had been active in many parishes throughout Lincoln, including Cathedral of the Risen Christ for 20 years, St. Peter’s for 15 years, and most recently St. John’s for 15 years.
Don graduated in 1969 from Pius X High School, and earned a Business degree at UNL. He earned his CPA in 1976, and returned to the family business in 1978. Don was a Lincoln business man for over 40 years at Horizon Seed Company and Miller Seed Company. Don was one of Glenn and Ann Miller’s seven children, and he and his siblings all attended Pius X. Don married Georgia (Pence) on December 27, 1973. Don passed away from Alzheimer’s on March 22, 2023.
Georgia worked in the Pius X office for 30 years before retiring in July of 2020. It was important for her to take care of the students at Pius X and to help provide the small things that students needed. She loved her job, the people she worked with, and most of all the students. Georgia sponsored the Landscaping Club for 22 years, which brought her closer to students. It was a joy for her to see how students took an interest in keeping the grounds at Pius X looking good.
The Don and Georgia Miller Endowed Fund was established to help remove financial barriers that keep students from participating in school activities. “We are so blessed to have our faith, because without faith what do you have?”
