New Pius X band room to be named after Pearle Francis Finigan

The Pearle Francis Finigan Foundation, one of the most generous benefactors for the arts at Pius X and throughout our community, is among the first to join us in our vision to expand and enhance the Pius X Arts facilities.

Liana Sandin, President of the Pearle Francis Finigan Foundation, shared: “Pearle was a great supporter of music, and enjoyed his time in the UNL Band as well as his high school band and the Catholic Band that was in operation then….I believe it was drawn from all the parishes in and possibly around Lincoln at the time, and met on Saturdays.”

“As soon as I found out that Pius was going to have a new band room, I knew that we wanted to sponsor it. I think it is a very fitting tribute to Pearle and his lifelong interest in music and musicians. We hope that every student who would like to play an instrument, or to make music in any way, is afforded an opportunity to do so.”

The Pearle Francis Finigan Foundation has long been committed to equipping Pius X High School students with the resources needed to support their talents and help them share the beauty of music throughout our community.

Transformational investments throughout the Foundation’s years of support for Pius X have included Band uniforms, instruments and resources for instrumental and vocal music, supporting architecture plans for the new performing arts center, and growing the Band and Vocal Music Endowments.

“We are tremendously grateful to the Pearle Francis Finigan Foundation and to all of our benefactors who believe in the importance of the arts. Knowing of Pearle F. Finigan’s love for music, we were excited when Liana Sandin expressed interest in naming a new band room at Pius X in Pearle’s honor. We look forward to when Pius X can bring our plans for a new performing arts space to fruition. A new performing arts center will not only accommodate the growth of our first-rate arts programs, but also provide enough space for community members to attend our talented students’ performances,” shared Tom Korta, CAO.
