Testing the taste of Hummus Brownie Batter

Hundreds of students taste-tested Brownie Batter Hummus during their lunches today. The key ingredient is black beans (see recipe in pictures), which were locally harvested. Students had the choice of dipping in a cookie treat or a pretzel. This event is part of Pius X’s Farm to School initiative through its Food Services program.

Abbie Allen’s English II class have been studying Julius Caesar. Students participated in a four-corners debate, discussing some of the major themes and discussing whether they agreed or disagreed on major points.

Guest offers insight into cybersecurity to computer science class

Donald Costello from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, along with help from Anne Pfeifer, presented to the Computer Science class about Cybersecurity. He taught about Caesar Code, encryption, the history of Cryptography, and Quantum Cryptography. He gave the school a gift of 4 different Cybersecurity textbooks. The teacher is John Zach.
