Heiser completed one of the most unique Hall of Fame careers in Pius X athletic history. He earned multiple varsity letters in four different sports and won state championships in three different sports. Heiser embarked on his hall of fame career by winning state championships in tennis in 1996 and 1997. The following year he changed sports and earned gold medal as part of the 1998 state championship football team. He added a state championship in basketball in 2000 while earning 1st team Super-State honors in basketball while earning MVP honors of the state championship all-tournament team. Heiser also managed to letter in golf three times as well.
Heiser attended Creighton University and played basketball his freshman year before switching gears and mirroring his athletic career by earning three different collegiate degrees in 2004, 2008, and 2012 en route to a position at UNMC with titles of MD, Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology, Associate Residency Program Director and Fellowship Director for the Acute Pain and Regional Anesthesia Fellowship. Heiser and his wife Rachel were married in 2013 and have two children.
