When I realized/discovered I wanted to be a teacher: From the time I was little, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I loved going to school and playing school at home. I knew I wanted to share my love of learning with my own students in my classroom. I spent a lot of time babysitting in junior high and high school, and I just loved working with kids. Seeing the world through the eyes of a child is truly amazing.
School memories that impacted how/why I teach: I remember my teachers reading aloud to the class, making the stories come to life. I make sure to read aloud to my class each day to help build their love of reading. I also remember the relationships my teachers built and feeling like they truly cared about their students.
Family Update: My husband, Adam, and I have been married for 5 years. We have two boys, Noah (3) and Isaiah (2).
Hobbies & Activities: I enjoy playing outside with my family, cheering on the Huskers, and crafting.
Personal Achievement: My greatest achievement has been raising my two boys and sharing the love of God with them.
My memories of Pius X: I have lots of great memories of Pius! I loved dressing up for all the football games. I will never forget freshmen basketball. The boys and girls teams rode the bus together to the away games. On the bus rides, it wasn’t uncommon for someone to breakout in song! AP Calculus with Mr. Burns was tough, but a lot of fun. I will never forget Mr. Burns’ funny quotes during class. We even kept a journal of them!
