Alumni Educator Profile

Jilliane (Walsh) Allemann

Class of 1999

Grade/Subject/Position: 5th and 6th combination class at St. Mary’s
Wayne, NE
When I realized/discovered I wanted to be a teacher: I was at Blessed Sacrament when I really felt the passion to become at teacher. I loved my 4th and 5th grade teachers and I felt loved and important.
School memories that impacted how/why I teach: I make sure I know my students. I have incorporated different things that my former teachers have done for me. or example, in 5th grade, my teacher Mrs. Jan Sangsom had a special devotion to the Divine Mercy Chaplet. That is something my students pray every Friday. I read aloud stories that I had loved to listen to from my teachers.
The impact of my students on me: I have had the opportunity to work in a small school where school IS truly a big family. I have also been able to teach three of my four children. (Next year I’ll get my last one). Working at a Catholic School has strengthened my Catholic faith as I share it with my students.
Family Update: I have been married to my husband Ryan Allemann for 17 years. We live on a farm outside of Wayne, raising our four children Evan(16), Lucas(13), Marie (11), and Molly (9)
Hobbies & Activities: My family and I enjoy camping and boating during the summer. I also drive my dad’s antique John Deere tractor on local tractor drives. I have been involved in several productions from the Wayne Community Theater, and I also coach Color Guard for Wayne High School.
Personal Achievement: Raising my children and inspiring my students.
My memories of Pius X: My favorite memories are spent with my friends. I played in band and was on Color Guard.
