Ben ’18 and Caroline (Theil) ’18 Sager

Married September 2022

The Story:
We first met briefly in a class we had freshman year of high school and even had a few classes our sophomore year. Though, we never got to be much more than classmates until junior year. We began talking a bit more the Fall of 11th grade and soon found that we had a lot of the same values, standards, and expectations for what our relationship would become!

There wasn’t a particular moment that led to us dating. Rather, it was a series of conversations during dates, late night text messages, and in class that dating felt like the course our relationship was going to take. It was not just one moment that sparked our desire to date. A multitude of feelings and emotions are what fueled our young relationship during our time at Pius X with a lot of it being our deep roots in our faith.

Pius X Impact:
The foundation that Pius X provided us with trusting in the Lord’s plan truly served us well during our 4 years of long-distance dating in college. Knowing that we had values and beliefs that were shared made us incredibly comfortable when navigating our late teens and early twenties. Both of us remain heavily reliant on our religious beliefs today and thoroughly appreciate the opportunity we had to nurture that in high school. Also, it is always fun to reminisce on past memories and catch up with old classmates that we both can relate to!

Life Update:
We currently reside in Enid, OK but are on the verge of moving to Wichita, KS at the end of March. Ben is currently serving as a pilot in the United States Air Force. Caroline is training with USA Triathlon and competing in races across the world in hopes for a chance to represent Team USA in 2028. We both enjoy quality time together in our busy schedules. Most of our time is spent indulging in a new restaurant or coffee shop, biking, running, swimming, or making spontaneous road trips around the US!
