The Story:
Laney and I met before freshman year at band camp since we both joined drumline.

After getting to know Laney for a few weeks, I decided to find the courage to ask her to the homecoming dance. After meeting her family and having a blast at the dance, we both knew that this wasn’t just a short-term thing. We dated throughout all of high school and got married a year after we graduated at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Lincoln, NE.

Pius X Impact:
Given that high school was four years straight of getting to know each other, we grew very close during our time at Pius. We participated in drumline, campus ministry, and Restore together, as well as often going to the chapel after school. Having a strong Catholic foundation to build our relationship on was easily the most important part of our journey together. Having confidence in our Catholic faith helped us to grow towards God as we grew towards each other. We were blessed to have many amazing role models, especially with the priests and sisters at Pius who we were both very close to.

Life Update:
Laney and I are living in the small town of Valparaiso, NE. She is working as a Special-Education Para at the elementary school here. I am working for a custom residential construction business owned by my brother-in-law, as well as taking online business classes through UNO. We love it here in Val and spend our free time going on walks, hunting and fishing, camping, and occasionally playing board games.
