Students in Campus Ministry walked through the halls praying the rosary before school to celebrate Our Lady of Guadalupe’s feast day on Dec. 12.
These students met in the old gym where they split into groups by grade and began to pray the sorrowful mysteries.
“I think walking around the school and saying the rosary out loud as a combined class showed how we are actually united in our faith,” junior Rachel Feldhaus said. “We should live our faith boldly and unapologetically.”
By praying throughout the school, Campus Ministry members, including sophomore Frances Nebel, hoped that they could be a witness of faith to other students.
“Maybe they heard us pray and they will want to learn how to pray the rosary if they don’t know how to pray it,” Nebel said. “Maybe they will want to sit in the chapel for a little bit.”
Being a part of saying this rosary has helped students, including Feldhaus, in their own prayer life and in their confidence in sharing the faith.
“I think that Campus Ministry helps me to be able to speak up about my faith,” Feldhaus said. “I feel like because of Campus Ministry and the rosary, I have a lot more confidence in bringing up the faith.”
