Restore gives students monthly praise and worship time

One straight hour to worship God sounds fantastic, right? Restore gives students that option.

Restore is a monthly activity that takes place on the first Wednesday of every month. It’s an activity set to help young adults grow in their relationship with God.

In the entrance of the chapel, there was a box of small candles that could be taken up to the tabernacle and lit with an intention at heart.

“I feel like when I walk into the room, I can feel this overwhelming presence of love, comfort, and peace every single time I walk into Restore,” senior Sarah Lang said.

Restore started with a welcoming then transitioned into a student testimony given by junior Will Bethune. Later students were able to spend quiet time in prayer and wait in line for confession.

Silent adoration was a time where students were able to leave their seats or the chapel and attend a short prayer group session, giving them time to pray to God alongside other people.

While they were praying, two singers played in the background accompanied by a guitar. The whole chapel was silent, except for the music playing in the background.

During one of the songs, multiple people joined and used their own voices to worship God. This event happened multiple times.

“I definitely think people should go and inspire them to grow closer to God,” Bethune said.
Chaplain Fr. Joseph Bernardo ended Restore by storing the Eucharist away and giving a blessing to everyone attending.

Together, both students and staff started chanting the Divine Praises, sung “Father, I adore You,” then once again silence fell over the Chapel.
