On October 6th, Pius X held their annual Grandparents Day Mass. This mass was a celebration of all the grandparents of Pius X students and staff. It was offered for all the grandparents.
The mass brought both the grandparents and grandchildren closer in faith. Everybody has a vocation, but Jane Oligmuller says her vocation is extra special.
“Being a grandparent has enhanced my vocation and made life even better,” Oligmuller said.
Junior, Dakota Martin’s grandma on her mom’s side has taught her many things before she passed.
“She is the reason I am the way I am,” Martin said, “I look up to her a lot.”
Martin’s grandma on her dad’s side also helped shape her faith. She taught her many things.
“She told me to know that Jesus is always carrying me in my darkest times,” Martin said.
But grandparents do not only teach the grandchildren lessons. Grandparent of Stephen Gonifas, Kathy Foy loves spending time with her grandkids.
“They teach me lots of things and they teach me how to have fun,” Foy said.
After mass the grandparents and grandkids reunited and were offered coffee and juice and cookies in the commons and the old gym. After they finished all the grandkids said their goodbyes and went back to class.
