The Pius X varsity volleyball team swept Lincoln Northeast on Tuesday.
Senior Adison Markowski started the game off by serving and the team gained 5 points right off the bat, giving them a strong lead. This lead held as Pius X took the first set 25-11.
“I was very excited. I felt good about the rest of the game, but I knew we needed to stay consistent in order to keep winning,” said senior Lanie Brott.
Pius X did stay consistent, keeping their lead throughout the second set. The girls, when not on the court, were sitting on the bench cheering for their teammates with much enthusiasm.
The Pius X team cruised through the second set with the score 25-10.
“We played at a good pace and ran our offense very well,” said Markowski.
After a short huddle, the girls were back at it, starting off the third set strong scoring 5 points right off the bat. The serves sharp, and the spikes sharper, Pius X swept with the score 25-9.
