Stylus options for students in 2024-25

Two years ago Pius X introduced a one-to-one iPad program. The use of the iPads in our classrooms has grown over that time. Many of our teachers use iPads for student note-taking mainly through guided notes, this next year all teachers will be using iPads for student note-taking. Making this change will help us to cut down on the amount of printing and paper used in our building. For students to take notes on their iPad they will need an iPad pencil. Below are several good options students can purchase for use at reasonable prices. Students do not need to purchase an Apple Pencil and there are good options besides the ones listed below. If you find a pencil option not on this list make sure it is compatible with iPads 7 through 10 before purchasing. If you need assistance with purchasing a pencil, due to the cost please let

Dollar-for-dollar tax credit up to $100K for scholarship contributions

Nebraska taxpayers can give hope to students at Pius X High School and claim a tax credit for up to half of your state tax liability or $100K (or $1M for estates and trusts). The Opportunity Scholarships Act (LB753) provides educational freedom to many Nebraska families who can’t afford the best school setting for their children. Diocese of Lincoln schools have partnered with Opportunity Scholarships of Nebraska, a 501(c)(3) scholarship granting organization. Many students who plan to attend Pius X have applied for Opportunity Scholarships of Nebraska, but we need more businesses and individuals to take advantage of the tax credit to help all the students seeking tuition assistance. To fully fund all the Pius X students hoping to receive OSN scholarships next school year, at least $325,000 in total contributions are needed. Contributions can be designated to help students at up to two schools of your choice. If you

Information about 529 College Savings plan

In 2018, a change at the federal government level granted states the opportunity to allow funds in 529 College Savings Plans to be used for K-12 education expenses. However, Nebraska’s state rules do not allow people to use those funds in that manner. You may learn more about this topic on this website – https://www.nest529direct.com – or speak directly with a financial planner.
