Connecting with Spanish language, culture through foods

Students in Spanish 3 classes have been exploring the rich culinary traditions of Spanish-speaking countries, showcasing their skills and creativity in the kitchen. Tasked with researching, translating, and recreating traditional recipes from various Spanish-speaking regions, ranging from Spain to Latin America, students enjoyed these dishes together in class.

Students delved into the history and origins of these dishes, discovering the ingredients and techniques that make each recipe special. After perfecting their dishes, students created detailed instructional videos to share with their peers, explaining step-by-step how the recipes were prepared and practice their Spanish language skills.

This hands-on learning experience has allowed students to connect with the Spanish language in a dynamic way, integrating culture, food, and language learning. Through this project, students have not only improved their Spanish skills but also gained a deeper appreciation for the culinary diversity across the Spanish-speaking world.
