Classic Literature I students created their own versions of Hell.
“This was the best project I have done, my group made our Hell ‘Mean Girls’ themed,” junior Frances Nebel said.
All students first read Dante’s “Inferno,” and then brainstormed a version of Hell special to them.
“It was a great opportunity to show my creative side in a subject that I thoroughly enjoy,” Nebel said.
This project took students three class days to complete.
“I helped draw all the photos and my partners helped to wrote the poem,” junior Naira Gonzalez said.
This is a way for students to learn the concepts behind “Inferno.”
“They learn and apply the ideas of contrapasso, Dante’s Hell, and medieval history,” Classic Literature teacher Mark Hansen said.
Students were put into groups of four and five and had to think of modern ideas to translate to their Hell.
“So many people put bad drivers, teachers, or bullies into their version of Hell,” Gonzalez said.
Many students enjoyed this project more than they thought they would.
“This project was very educational and more fun than I thought it would be,” junior Matilda Hayes said.
