Junior Brennen Ames has begun promoting his band’s next show around the school with his friends.
“The band is called A.R.K., the initials of our last names,” Ames said. “I am performing with junior Theo Kastl and a coworker of mine, Rylee Rauner.”
He first started when he was invited to play onstage and then invited his friends.
“I was at a show at the Zoo bar where there were thirty to forty people,” Ames said. “Kevin Lloyd invited me up on stage and I knew then that I wanted to perform.”
Brennen had been playing music for a while and Theo was very eager to join.
“He first approached me in freshman year and said he played bass,” Ames said. “He wanted to collaborate with me and my coworker, Rylee, I asked personally. I will be going from vocals, guitar and keyboard, Rylee on drums, Theo on bass.”
Excitedly, he reached out to junior Jackson Bunger to potentially run security.
“He’s a friend of mine, both Theo and Brennen,” Bunger said. “I thought it would be a fun opportunity and I’m getting paid, plus they are pretty good, so it’s a win-win situation.”
The next show is being performed on March 15 at 9:30 p.m. at Nebraska Union, no entry fee, all are welcome.
