Academic Decathlon team competes in second scrimmage

The Academic Decathlon team competed in their second scrimmage on Dec. 12th.
The team competed at Bellevue East

The team coach is Mike Katalenich. He has helped coach for four years.

“At the last competition we did very well,” Katalenich said. “But at the one scrimmage we were at we did very well we took home several medals. Our overall score was the highest of the large schools that had competed at that scrimmage.”

Junior Regina Jordan won four medals at the second scrimmage. Jordan has been studying hard for this scrimmage.

“I have been going to coffee shops around Lincoln and drinking coffee and poring over the guide,” Jordan said.

Junior Caroline Fulkerson won two medals at the second scrimmage. Fulkerson has improved her study habits.

“Just putting more time into it, just spending more time studying and paying closer attention to what I’m actually studying for,” Fulkerson said.

The next competition is regionals on Jan.18.
