Fall Retreat gives students opportunity to encounter Christ

Pius X held its annual Fall Retreat on Oct. 9 and 10 at YMCA Camp Kitaki.

“I think the Fall Retreat is a good first step in coming to realize that the God of the universe loves you and desires a relationship with you,” chaperone Michael Grindey said.

The retreat consisted of talks, small group discussions, Mass, free time, a rosary walk and adoration.

“My favorite part of the retreat was adoration because it quieted my heart and it allowed me to rest in the Lord,” junior Laney Sharp said.

During adoration, students had the opportunity to go to confessions and prayer teams.

“My favorite part about the retreat was watching students encounter Christ during adoration and prayer teams,” Grindey said.

All the talks were focused on the theme of the retreat, which was the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Five different talks were given throughout the weekend, including a men’s and women’s talk.

Sophomore Maily Nguyen said, “I liked Mrs. Maly’s talk and the Q&A panel, because it really let me see the reality of being a woman.”
