Riley Brown is the new head coach for the Thunderettes Dance Team at Pius X High School.
“I have a passion of being there for young girls and pouring into them,” Brown said. “I know what it’s like to go through high school with social media and insecurities. I believe it really fills my own bucket to be on the other side of that and allow them to see things get better.”
A dancer since she was 3 years old, Brown was a leader in a new program at York University in York, Neb.
“We were a new program and my freshman year we were bottom of conference. I was captain my sophomore year through senior year. Sophomore year we got runner up. My last two years we were conference champions,” she said. Along the way, she earned numerous individual honors, including first team all conference for the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. She also teaches dance at her home studio she attended while growing up, Pas de Deux.
