Parents: Mike and Kimberly Barrett
School(s) attended K-8: St. Peters
Favorite place on campus: My favorite place to be was on the softball practice field. Not only did I practice there everyday during high school season, but also during my summer season. Lots of early mornings and long afternoons were spent on that field. So many memories were made there including lots of conditioning, lots of reps, and building lots of new friendships.
Activities at Pius X: Softball, Sotto Voce, track, student council, and NHS.

What is/was your favorite class at Pius X, and why?

My favorite class is journalism because I am able to publish my writings and photo stories for all of my peers to read. It’s a very proud moment when that final paper hits press and we give it out to all the classrooms. Mr. DeWispelare also does such a good job at encouraging us and pushing us to always improve and put out our best work. I have learned more in his class about writing and designing than in any (other) English class I have been a part of.

How has your faith impacted your education, or how has your education impacted your faith?

I think being able to express and grow in my faith while at school is the most special thing about Pius. I have been able to get into discussions with my classmates and teachers that I would not be able to have anywhere else. Being able to live in my faith and now knowing how to carry it with me for the rest of my life is something I will forever be grateful for.

What are you most proud of about your time at Pius X?

I am most proud of how the class of 2019 really embodied the “Pius X Family”. Our class is very special in the sense that if anyone needed anything at anytime, you would always have that support from any one or all of your classmates. I don’t think that you can get there anywhere else besides Pius.

Where are your plans after high school (college, military, job, etc.)? What do you plan to study?

I am going to UNL to study Biology.
